![]() ![]() And wifi is apparently only for Garmin Connect upload, bluetooth only for communication with a mobile device. Not a huge deal, but wifi or bluetooth would be better. So should I sit here with a partially crippled device, or roll the dice that Garmin Communicator will still work once I have configured Garmin Express? In the present state I can only sync via USB, looks like. (Well not really, because I guess I see that every time I upload, but I never bothered to parse it before.) But I have not registered my device, set up Garmin Connect, etc. I installed Garmin Express before reading the notice about not installing it. But there is a lot of device functionality that can only be accessed via Garmin Express (and for which I seem to need a Garmin Connect account. When the sensor is paired with your device, your heart rate and heart rate zone appear. Unlike the Garmin ANT+ Agent you install on your PC, those ANT+ services dont. Select the device key until HEART appears. Before you can connect your ANT+ Garmin Device to your tablet / phone. NOTE: Stay 10 m (33 ft.) away from other ANT+ sensors while pairing. ![]() So now, RA is in fact able to upload directly from my 920, when it is connected via USB. I thought Garmin Express was the name of the app that let me view the local, synced data, but evidently not, and I can no longer find the app. It appears to be designed to only work with Garmin Connect / Garmin Express. There is nothing in the instructions about how to get data onto my computer. And the RA upload works with the Garmin turned off, once it has synched.īut now. the ANT stick slurps the data from the device, puts it somewhere, and RA gets it from there (and not the device), via the Garmin Communicator, plugin, right? I know the data is sitting there on my computer, because there is (or was) a really crappy Garmin app with which I could view it, export it, etc. Then I go to Upload GPS Data, Import from Your Device, and upload to RA. The instructions are provided during the initial setup, or can be found in the Garmin Connect. Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect a device. From the Forerunner device, select > Settings > Bluetooth > Pair Mobile Device. It auto-syncs to my computer with the ANT stick. I had a 910XT which I liked but it couldnt upload wirelessly to my iPhone (and Garmin Connect). Bring your smartphone within 10 m (33 ft.) of your Forerunner device. ![]()
